Wallmans Lawyers

Meeting Room Upgrades

Overview

TxRx was engaged to address the conferencing requirements for Wallmans Lawyers at 400 King William St. The client needed a flexible conferencing solution for two meeting rooms with an operable wall that allowed them to host events of various sizes. The primary goal was to implement video conferencing functionality that could adapt to different room configurations.

Discoveries

  • Extended Desktop Presentation: During our design workshops, we discovered a need for flexible presentation options at multiple locations, including the table and lectern. To support various meeting scenarios, we integrated extended desktop functionality to provide versatile presentation capabilities.

  • Mobile Room Controller: To enhance control flexibility, we enabled the room controller to move easily between two locations, activated through the xControl interface. Additionally, a QR code system was implemented to allow control from multiple mobile devices, accessible from any network location.

  • Platform Compatibility: Wallmans relied primarily on Microsoft Teams but also required connectivity with Zoom and WebEx for the Courts. We provided a Lenovo Microsoft Teams Room (MTR) solution that enabled seamless cross-platform communication.

  • Optimized Audio: Clear, reliable audio was crucial. We integrated a Sennheiser TCC2 microphone, programmed with various presets tailored to each presentation position, ensuring optimal sound quality across all modes.

Speakers and Amplification: Wallmans' 2012 AV upgrade had robust speakers and amplification still in good condition. We integrated these components into the new TxRx system and committed to assist with hardware replacements as they reach end-of-life, maximizing the longevity of their AV assets.

Project Achievements

  1. Dynamic Control: Wallmans staff now have the flexibility to control the meeting room from any location within the premises.

  2. Multiple Presentation Modes: Staff can present using Extended Desktop through USB-C at the boardroom table or lectern. Content sharing via the HDMI touch panel is available at both locations, with full Teams calling functionality. Additionally, wireless sharing via Apple Airplay and Free-to-Air TV integration were implemented for special events.

  3. Environment Integration: Following the project’s completion, TxRx was engaged to integrate lighting controls within the interface, enhancing room ambiance control.

  4. Room Combine Functionality: Audio bridging between the boardroom and Meeting Room 6 can be enabled at the touch of a button, providing greater flexibility for larger meetings.
